Coastal Sand Dune Rehabilitation Project
The Coastal Sand Dune Rehabilitation Project commenced in 2021 and contributes to the maintenance, restoration, and enhancement of the coastal dune system on LeFevre Peninsula, and Biodiversity Park. The project aims to increase biodiversity through revegetation, weed and pest control and to create a coastal, and coast-river biodiversity link over time.
This project is funded by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and Green Adelaide through the Grassroots Grants program. That program supports wide-ranging efforts by individuals and groups to maintain and improve their local environment.
Community Weeding Days
Community weeding days are held along the coast throughout the year to remove small and manageable weeds. We encourage community members, local businesses, and corporate groups to join us and get to know the local natural environment.
The focus of these days is to eradicate as many weeds as possible, raise community awareness about the threat of invasive plant species, and highlight the importance of keeping those weeds under control.

Other Project Activities
We will undertake diverse projects as part of the Green Adelaide Grassroots Grants program. Future work will include professional weed control for more extensive and challenging species such as coastal galenia, euphorbia and boxthorn. Professional contractors with experience in revegetation and restoration of natural landscapes will be involved in this project.
The Taperoo Dunes website has been upgraded to include a section dedicated to education and communication with school students.
